PUTTING THE
NEEDS OF DUBLIN RESIDENTS FIRST
"Commitment and dedication are the foundation of my candidacy for City Council, attributes that are forged from my passion for our Dublin family community and a sense of fiscal and environmental responsibility.
As a current member of City Council and a long-term resident of Dublin, I have developed a strong understanding of the needs of our diverse community, and the ability to comprehend complex initiatives and make tough decisions".
MY PRIORITIES
Public Safety
Dublin has a strong public safety program that is well-respected in the County. As a council member, I will continue to support investments that provide the necessary resources and technology to the law-enforcement, fire safety, and emergency services units to ensure the continued safety and well-being of our community.
Dublin’s cultural and ethnic diversity is a source of our community’s pride, and we must continue to build upon this foundation. It is our responsibility as citizens and civic leaders to strengthen the bonds within our community to address the challenges of inequality and discrimination that are plaguing our society.
As a council member, I will support programs that enhance communication and provide education through collaborative partnerships between our law-enforcement providers, our citizens, and our city’s businesses.
Housing Inclusivity and Affordability
While our vibrant city grows, it is imperative that we continue to assign a high priority to establishing affordable and transitional housing in our city and within the Tri-Valley. Dublin is financially out of reach for many folks across the economic spectrum and unfortunately the situation is getting worse. Our grown children and their young families, essential workers, seniors, teachers, and public safety providers cannot afford to live in our community.
Dublin and its supportive council have dutifully followed county and state mandated housing guidelines and regulations and has been a strong supporter of affordable housing solutions. We must continue this leadership. We also create more independent living, assisted living and memory care facilities.
As a member of the City Council, a commission member on the Alameda County Housing Authority, and a volunteer, I have had the privilege to work with many dedicated people and non-profit organizations that have focused on housing and essential services. These experiences have allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of these necessities, and of the growing economic disparity in the Tri-Valley.
Young families are our future and our seniors provide us the guiding light. We need to retain these folks in our City. This is our community responsibility and will be a priority for me as a representative of Dublin.
Economic Development and Small Business Support
It is essential that our city has both business sustainability and diversification strategies. Small businesses have been an important part of our economic success, and we must continue to provide solutions that support and nurture them.
We must also look to the future and focus on attracting rising business sectors that can provide professional jobs and services to the City of Dublin and to the Tri-Valley. Life-sciences, advanced manufacturing, and the blossoming artificial intelligence sectors are strategic areas for job growth opportunities over the coming decades.
I will encourage efforts to form alliances with industry, academic institutions, the science community, and other cities in the Tri-Valley to build this long-term strategy.
Infrastructure and Environmental Sustainability
Dublin has been one of the fastest growing cities in California for more than two decades. This growth has necessitated larger requirements for road maintenance and traffic flow improvements throughout the city.
Growth must be intelligently managed, based on planning and development that is focused on improving the quality of our community and our environment. The decisions we make today are the legacy for future generations of Dublin families.
As a Council member I will support infrastructure investment to address
• sustainability of city roads and parks
• Improvements in transportation-flow projects, including enhanced roadways to accommodate pedestrians and bicycles.
• initiatives that provide for improvements in energy consumption, open-space, and balanced economic and environmental sustainability
